One URL can hide a lot of decisions.
A campaign link might expire on Friday, require a password, open a mobile app on iOS, and split desktop visitors between two landing pages. Testing it by clicking only shows one outcome, and those test clicks can pollute the very analytics you are trying to trust.
Make the order explicit.
Vink checks status and expiration first, then password access. Platform-specific app links take priority over destination experiments. If no rule matches, the default destination wins. The route lab runs that same decision function and explains its steps without enqueuing an analytics event.
Explore boundaries, not just the happy path.
Try both sides of an experiment weight boundary. For a 70/30 split, buckets 69 and 70 should choose different destinations. Try a desktop visitor, an iPhone, and an Android device. For a protected link, simulate both a missing and a correct password. Rehearsal is authenticated and cannot be used to bypass the public password gate.
Leave a path back.
The flight recorder saves each route configuration as a version. Restoring a version validates its destinations again and writes a new version, preserving the history. Changes require the current version number so a stale editor cannot silently overwrite another teammate’s work.
